Inground Pool Kit Tips
How To Pool Krete (Pool Crete) Your Swimming Pool Kit Floor
This video can serve as a basic guide to finishing the floor of your swimming pool kit. Most inground pool kits are finished with a product commonly referred to in the swimming pool industry as Pool Crete or Pool Krete. Pool Crete is a mixture of cement and vermiculite that is designed to be mixed with water, similar to the way concrete is typically mixed. Once mixed the pool crete is then troweled to form up the bottom of your inground pool kit. Once dry you will need to cover your pool floor with a vinyl swimming pool liner for protection that will keep your pool kit floor looking good for years to come!
Suggested Tools
- 1 Shovel
- 2 – 4 Friends.
- 2 Trowels Flexible Trows With Rounded Edges.
- 4 Five Gallon Buckets
- Mortar Mixer, easy to rent at a daily rate in most towns. *You can mix by hand but this will increase the amount of time need to complete the project.
- Wheelbarrow
- Access to water from a water hose.
Inground Pool Kit Tips
Please Note! Never attempt to finish your swimming pool floor if there is a chance of rain within 3 days of the project start and finish. Rain can ruin your new pool kit floor. Your new pool crete bottom needs at least a minimum of 24 hours to set up and dry. As soon as it is dry you will need to install your swimming pool liner to insure the floor is protected from the eliminates. Installing your swimming pool liner before the pool crete is dry will not protect the pool floor. Ground water can seep in and push its way through the not fully dried pool crete and cause cracking. Please make sure you have at least 3 days of no projected rain before you start this project.
