Fiberglass Swimming Pool Kit Savings

Swimming Pool Kit

Pool Warehouse no longer offers fiberglass in-ground swimming pool kits. Fiberglass inground swimming pool kits tend to crack over time and are not recommended. With the major savings coming in reduced outlays for maintenance, pool chemicals, and electricity. Homeowners who choose an Inground Swimming Pool made of polymer or steel walls will save as much as 70% on chemicals and 30% on electricity costs.

Due to their fiberglass construction, these swimming pool kits will, in most cases, need to be resurfaced. A typical concrete or fiberglass swimming pool will require periodic resurfacing, meaning extra outlays of cash for many years to come. The bottom line is that while a fiberglass inground pool kit will cost more upfront than a vinyl or cement pool, homeowners and will require a significant amount of extra cash outlay over the life of the swimming pool.

The smooth fiberglass surface of these pool kits makes them easier and less expensive to maintain than concrete but still more expensive than a vinyl liner pool. They also never require acid washing, and unlike concrete swimming pools with their porous surface, offer no haven for algae and other undesirable elements. This means these swimming pool kits are also healthier than concrete swimming pools. The gel-coat surface of a Fiberglass swimming pool is a polyester MPG-Isothalic resin with color pigment mixed in. This gel-coat is chemically bonded to the fiberglass and becomes an integral part of the swimming pool. The 30-32 mil gel-coat finish is nonporous, chemically inert, and extremely resistant to acids and oxidizers. Algae cannot penetrate the finish, and any stains which may form on the gel-coat can easily be removed by adding a stain remover to the swimming pool water!
